Prayer for Selfishness

Heavenly Father, I humbly come before You, seeking Your divine mercy and grace to overcome selfishness in my personal relationships. Strengthen me, Lord, to prioritize others’ needs above my own interests and desires. Grant me the heart of a selfless person who follows Christ Jesus’ example. In the precious name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, in the words of Your apostle Paul, we are reminded of our duty to “do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves” (Philippians 2:3). We seek your Holy Spirit’s guidance to illuminate our own hearts and minds against the evils of selfishness. Strengthen us in our daily walk to put others first and serve those around us with love, grace, and understanding. Amen.

Gracious Father, drawing from 2 Corinthians 4:16, we look to Your boundless mercy as we seek healing for our own souls and those affected by our selfishness. Lead us in the path of truth and renew our hearts daily, so that the wounds inflicted by our transgressions may be alleviated. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

O Eternal One, in the journey of my own life, help me to turn from selfishness, and embrace the path of selflessness. Empower me, O Lord, with Your divine grace to abandon my own strength and stand strong in faith, hope and love. May I humbly serve others each day, reflecting Your compassion and mercy. Amen.

Benevolent Creator, guide us in releasing our attachment to worldly possessions and selfish desires. Help us, O Divine One, to embrace your joy and peace, finding true fulfillment in humble worship. May we lay down our sins daily and acknowledge Your boundless love by focusing on You above all earthly things. Amen.

Oh Divine Master, aid me in my quest to conquer selfishness that dwells within. I have fallen short, as I fail to die daily to myself and embrace Your will. Remind me, dear God, of your presence on a daily basis, so that I am forever mindful of the blessings you have bestowed upon me. May I sing praises of Your glory and demonstrate humility in actions and thoughts. Help me combat this struggle with the knowledge that Your justice undeniably reigns supreme. Teach me to seek forgiveness for my transgressions and grant me the strength to always act according to Your divine promise. As You have called us all into obedience, let the courage to walk in faith and servitude envelop my heart and banish any traces of fear. Through Your everlasting mercy and endless love, grant me the grace necessary to triumph over this internal battle against selfishness – not for my own validation but as a testament of devotion towards You who deserves all honor and praise. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Divine Creator and Sustainer, we come before You humbly today, seeking refuge in Your unwavering love (Psalm 46:1). Bestow upon struggling parents the strength to overcome selfishness in raising their precious little ones. May the spirit of selflessness fill their hearts, as You’ve commanded in Ephesians 4:2-3 – “with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love”. Nurture them with Your divine grace, O Lord, so that they may be blessed with patience and wisdom to guide their children toward Your eternal kingdom. Amen.

Mighty Father, in accordance with Ephesians 4:2, I beseech You to instill patience and humility within me. Teach me, O loving Creator, to prioritize others before myself, as Your Son exemplified. Empower me to resist the temptations of selfishness, that I may act in accordance with Your holy will. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.

Eternal Father, in this world filled with trials and tribulations, grant us the wisdom and guidance necessary to navigate through the presence of selfishness around us. Enlighten our hearts and minds to respond with patience and love, understanding that all are equal before Your divine judgment. As we strive for a life in pursuit of Your will, empower us to be instruments of unity and compassion even amidst difficulties. In the name of Your Son Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

In the weary hours, when selfishness threatens to consume us, help us, our cherished Master. Bestow upon us the wisdom to recognize our flaws, turning judgement into compassion, and death into life everlasting. May we courageously embrace generosity and selflessness as followers of your glorious example; manifesting your divine love in our actions, words, and hearts. Amen.

In Your loving embrace, most compassionate Father, I come seeking guidance and wisdom for our relationships marred by selfishness. Kindle within us a spirit of selflessness, empathy and understanding so we might overcome our shortcomings and nurture bonds built on love and trust. Through Jesus Christ our Savior, Amen.

Dearest Father, in accordance with Your Word, let each of us regard others as more important than ourselves (Galatians 5:13). We humbly ask for Your guidance to conquer the vice of selfishness in our marriage. Bestow upon us a spirit of generosity and understanding so we may lovingly serve one another. Strengthen our bond and help us grow closer to You and each other in selflessness. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Almighty Father, in the spirit of Matthew 6:14-15, we seek Your guidance and strength to forgive those who have caused us pain through their selfishness. Bestow upon us the grace to let go of resentment, heal our hearts, and extend compassion towards our offenders. Unite us all in Your infinite love, so that we may grow closer to You. Amen.
