Prayer to Put God First

Heavenly Father, lend us strength to always put You first above all earthly things. During times when we are easily distracted, remind us of the solid ground found in Your word and will. Ignite in our hearts an earnest desire and steady dedication to honor You in all that we do. In every decision, let Your wisdom be our guiding light, providing hope when outlooks seem dim. Thank You for allowing us this opportunity to embrace Your grace and uphold our commitment to place You at the forefront of our lives. Amen.

As we traverse this journey of life, help us always set our sights on You and seek God, not as an option but as the pivot on which all else swings. Strengthen our resolve as the enemy reminds us of past failures and sows doubts in the garden of our faith. Empower us to keep our footsteps firm on Your path, unswayed by any evil intent aimed towards us. May we trust in Your lead, ensuring a close walk with You throughout our journey. Divine Guide, as we embark on the road ahead of us, we humbly acknowledge Your Word ringing in our hearts. As we strive for the wisdom to prioritise You in every action emanating from our being, empower us with a sense of unshakeable faith and trust. Help us adhere sincerely to Your two commandments – loving You above all else, and loving others as ourselves. This is where true power lies; proffering love when it’s most challenging. Blessed Savior, in our moments of self-sufficiency, humble our hearts and remind us of Your grand design. Even when we endeavor to exercise self-control or cling to understanding, let us remember Proverbs 3:5 – “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” As fear attempts to stake its claim in our hearts, reinforce that only God loves us fiercely and unconditionally. Almighty God, we stand before You in our weakness and lift up our hearts. In every storm that rages, allow us not to surrender worry control to fear but firmly place it in Your merciful hands. Securely clothe us with supernatural endurance as we traverse through trials, for each challenge faced is an opportunity blooming into a new creation. May you be our rear guard and defense, Lord, as whispered in Isaiah 52:12: “but the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.” As Your children battling adversities, let us hold tight onto this promise. Amplify Your instructions so that Your voice speaks louder than any talk within and around us. Grant us the wisdom and dedication to actively discern Your divine guidance from the many distracting discords we encounter daily. Foster in us a greater attentiveness to Your spiritual whispers over the noisy shouts of worldly intrigues. May we live by Your counsel rather than be swept away by fleeting distractions. Amen.
