Prayer for Flooding

Humbled by Your might in the face of such natural disaster we kneel, pleading, “Peace, be still!” to this torrential rain and relentless storm. We witness the mountains quake, floods washing away our beloved land but know it is within Your creation and control. Seeing our community submerged in this devastation, a despair grips us. Yet, we find courage from Psalm 65:9; “You visit the earth and water it abundantly.” Thus, amidst the downpour we find hope, confident in Your power to heal the rains’ wrath. With faith burning brighter than ever, we beseech You to restore our lands- cease these waters’ surge reclaiming what once was ours; compacted soil underfoot rich with promise. Today’s floodwaters tomorrow’s bounty. May our flooded area serve as testament to Your divine mercy. In ultimate surrenderance to you Lord, may we learn from these trials and thank you for every drop of rain that waters both Earth and spirit alike. In brokenness may we find strength; In despair may hope be discovered; Through devastation towards restoration – reminding us of our place within this grand creation – frail yet courageous. Amen.

Almighty God, our ever-present help in times of fear and floods, we beseech You. As looming water threatens to turn into a flood, we place our faith in You, Heavenly Father.
