Prayer for Breaking Fast

Dear Father, as we prepare to break our fast, we immerse ourselves in Your eternal goodness. With humility and gratitude, we give thanks for every morsel of spiritual food You provide. May this physical sustenance serve as a symbol of the divine nourishment You continuously offer. God bless us today and always in our journey towards greater faith. Amen.

As I reconnect with normal patterns of life, Lord, I recognize Your unfailing love in so many tastes and wonderful things. Psalm 34:8 reminds me ‘Taste and see that the Lord is good.’ I appreciate life more fully now, aware that You’ve delivered me from the Evil One. Let’s celebrate these gifts, acknowledging the greatness of Your love. Amen.

Having journeyed through the forty days of Lent, we acknowledge the sacrifices You made, Jesus Christ. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we yearn for new refreshment and peace. May the light of Your love rise within us as Easter approaches, stirring our hearts with anticipation. In reverence, we continue to herald You, Christ Jesus. Amen.

O Living God, help me delve into Your deep things, enlightening my mind with Your wisdom. Pour out wisdom upon me as in Proverbs 2:6, “For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Align every heart beat with Your will – to equip me according to Your Word. Guide my introspective journey toward You. Let this reflective moment refocus my gaze on the eternal. In Jesus’ name, I pray for reorientation of focus onto You after this sacred fast. Amen.

Oh Heavenly Father, the source of our strength and grace, we come before Your throne with humility. I have concluded my period of fasting and now seek Your endless love to empower me in this spiritual journey. As mentioned in Ephesians 6:10, let me “be strong in the Lord and His mighty power”. May Your grace permeates my existence, refueling my disposition with immortal vigor from this day forth. In unwavering trust, I embrace this hopeful path towards righteousness under the divine guidance of the Lord. With determination engraved in my heart, I press on forward. Amen.

Gracious God, we acknowledge with humble hearts all the treasures and secrets revealed to us during our fasting. We recognize these as Your great blessings, rich in wisdom and strength. Your glory, God, shimmers brightly on each revelation, unveiling life’s true essence. “Lamentations 3:22-23 reminds us’…the steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end.’ In gratitude for Your faithful blessings and everlasting glory that belong solely to You, we bring this prayer before You. Amen.

Gentle Presence, in the stillness of our fast, we turn inward, seeking Your truth. Let Your song seep deep into our souls as we listen intently to all the words You whisper. From the utter darkness of our ignorance, kindle within us the revealing light of enlightenment. “In your light do we see light” (Psalm 36:9), thus we implore You, dispel those shadows that cloud our vision! O Spirit of Truth, unfold unto us not only what has been hidden but also what is yet untapped within our own spirits. Bring illumination where there’s utter darkness; may Your Light guide us ever towards righteousness. In hopeful expectation and sanctified completion of our sojourn unclad in worldly feasting, reside within us deeply with Your radiant warmth after this period of fasting. Amen.

Abundantly, You have blessed us with all these gifts, inspiring our hearts to produce wonderful things. We are grateful and humbly receive the bounty of a new treasure, filling us with boundless joy as the fast ends. Radiating praise from our rejoicing souls, we beseech You to guide us in using Your blessings wisely. Amen.

In the Great Beauty of Your steadfast love, we find resolute strength. After braving forty nights of fasting and resisting temptation, now more than ever, our hearts yearn for unyielding resilience. Remind us constantly, Lord, of the triumph in self-control that we have harnessed within us. Empower us to maintain this fortitude against future trials and temptations. In Your majestic name we pray, Amen.
