Prayer for Selflessness

O Dearly Beloved Word of eternal life, our hearts bow in humility before You, acknowledging our tendency towards self-absorption. We pray, help us to rise above selfish pursuits and embrace a higher calling, a calling to serve God and others. Guide us, Father, to embody Your divine virtues of love and selflessness, reflecting them onto the world around us. As we strive for this transformation of soul, foster within us sincere devotion that endures beyond transient desires. For through serving You, we find true fulfillment far surpassing worldly treasures. Accordingly we submit ourselves unto your will. Amen.

Bless, O Dearly Beloved Word, this heart consumed by selfish desires. Bestow upon it understanding; meld within it compassion. May thou dost deserve blessing guide the way towards empathy, shift selfishness to care for others. Illuminate the path towards Your Kingdom in Heaven, where nobility and altruism reign supreme. Forgive, we pray, our human imperfections. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, my Resilient Savior, help me turn from selfishness. In the spirit of faithfulness and selflessness that You embodied, may I too consider the needs of others before mine. Grant me strength in resisting temptations large and small. As I seek rest in your comforting arms, infuse my heart with unselfish desires for Jesus’ name to be glorified through my actions. By faith and in Your unfailing love, may this prayer bear fruit. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I aspire to mirror Your holy will and serve thee as a caring person. “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve,” (Matthew 20:28) let me humbly follow that path. Teach me empathy and love; equip me with an unselfish heart to put the well-being of others above mine. May my actions reflect a compassionate commitment to the world and our sacred earth, promoting harmony, understanding, and peace among all Your creation. Amen.

Gracious God, we enter Your presence with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of life. We recognize our need for Your mercy to transform our lives. Bestow upon us, Christians, Your divine grace that nurtures selflessness in our beings. Touch our souls and instill in us the strength to emulate Christ’s altruistic spirit.
