Prayer for Nightmares

Dear Lord, I turn to You today seeking your protection from nightmares. Cancel bad dreams, and fill my mind with Your words and verses from the Bible that provide me with a sound mind and perfect peace. Remind me that You have all the power to fight against spiritual wickedness and protect me from any weapon formed against me. Let Your light shine on me as I drift off to sleep so I may feel safe and be surrounded by warmth and joy in those hours of peaceful dreams. Surround me with Your angels for deliverance, and let me lie down in peace, knowing that You will watch over me and bless me with a portion forever. Amen.

Father Lord, I hope for your protection from these bad dreams that haunt me in my daily life. Please break their grip on my heart and mind, and replace them with Your peace and assurance that You have overcome all evil. Help me to remember Your most powerful Word and use it to destroy any lies of the devil that try to convince me that I’m afraid or that the spirit of fear will linger. Guard my thoughts as I lay down to rest, and bless me with restful nights filled with sweet dreams that bring joy, trustworthiness, and a greater knowledge of Your glory. Let me forget the world and all its troubles so that I may feel safe and secure so I can experience such a dream life and sleep in peace with my children. May I be blessed with good dreams and experience the power of true peace in every part of my life. Amen.

Heavenly Father, thank you for being my refuge and protector. Remind me that you are with me when I feel paralyzed by fear brought on by night terrors. Your love is greater than all the darkness I may experience now. Please fill me with Your peace and courage that surpasses all understanding, and let me know that You are the most powerful way I can fight off these overwhelming fears. Encourage me with Your Word and promise me deliverance from all that may seek to frighten me. Help me remember that You have blessed me with perfect peace and will always be with me, whether I am awake or asleep. In Your Holy Name, I pray. Amen.

I put my trust in the Lord, knowing You are a safe refuge. I will not fear the nightmares and anxieties of the night or be troubled by whatever comes my way during the day. Help me to remember Your promises are true and will secure me during these times of unrest.

Dear Jesus Christ, I thank You that nothing can hurt me. Help me take control whenever the enemy invades me with evil dreams. Bring me peace and assurance, help me rest and rid my mind of all fear associated with the bad dream. Let Your will be done in my night slumber- give me peaceful sleep void of any negative presence. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Dear God, I pray for peace and comfort to be upon my child as he drifts off back to sleep. Let his dreams be filled with good things, and replace any bad nightmares he has encountered with your mighty power. Be present with him, Lord God, during this time of fear and uncertainty so that he may know that You are here taking care of him every step of the way. May we find shelter in You when our thoughts turn dark – shield us from anything that does not bring joy or restful nights. In the Holy Spirit, I pray – Amen!
