Prayer for India

Dear Jesus Christ, source of all Hope and Serenity, we pray fervently for the persecuted Indian Christians and all religious minorities in India. Amidst the storms of violent persecution exacerbated by anti-conversion laws, infuse our suffering kin with Your soothing Peace. Guard them from further persecution at the hands of extremists, and give strength to our local partners to preserve national identity through resistance. “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:10) We pray for India; manifest Your Compassion there. Amen.

In the silent echoes of our hearts, we hold high respect for the Indian Christians who have succumbed to the most extreme persecution in defense of their faith. A deep sadness fills us as we offer this supplication for persecuted Christian women and vulnerable Indian believers whose faith remains unshaken despite their trials. Strengthen, Lord, so many Christians currently enduring affliction, may they never leave Jesus, but grow into steadfast new Christians. In You, our undimmed hope rests. Amen.

Eternal God, elevate wisdom and guidance within India’s states leadership. In a national identity often influenced by Hindu extremists, may they exercise fairness and respect for all citizens. As anti-conversion laws stir controversy, let it not instil fear nor coerce conversions for security reasons. We pray that You guide us in resilience, converting these challenges into opportunities for unity as Your divine intention is love and harmony amongst brothers–and not hatred or division. Amen.

Lord, on this day of celebration, we uphold India in prayer. We thank You for Your faithfulness since independence, for You have opened doors when all seemed closed. Gratefully remembering how You’ve anchored us in our struggles with the caste system and forced conversions. Bless other Christians, Hindus, and all citizens with unity, encouraging a biblical response to societal fissures. In Your mercy, may resources abound to pay people justly, fostering equality in Indian society. Amen.

Gracious and Mighty God, we lift up brave souls fiercely combating the radical nationalist agenda in India. In their endeavor to protect open doors partners, facing false accusations, and risks of grievous harm, infuse them with perseverance and bravery. Let Your holy protection guard those falsely accused and targeted for spreading Your Word among other groups. Empower our brothers and sisters enduring this onslaught while sharing Your Word. Please watch over them tirelessly, dear Lord. Amen.

As we come together, O Magnificent Healer, our hearts are heavy for those brutally impacted by the train accidents in India. The local Christian population stands united, extending comfort and solace to all who mourn and are fearful. We urgently implore You to turn Your merciful gaze towards India, bringing healing and transformation upon this calamity-stricken land. Aware of the prevalent poverty fueling these preventable tragedies, we cry out with Psalm 146:7 proclaiming “He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry”. Encourage concerted efforts to eradicate poverty in India, creating an atmosphere where safety is not compromised. Amen.

Jesus, the Healer of all wounds, we humbly plead for Your intercession in India. Open the hearts of the hurting communities to encounter You, Jesus, feel Your healing touch and experience reconciliation. May open doors local partners serve as vessels of Your grace, bridging gaps and fostering understanding. Pour out Your bountiful mercy on us all; let hope rise from despair and turn enmity into love. We trust in You for this restoration process. Amen.

Merciful Father, we come before You with an urgent plea for our pastors and local leaders in India who face severe persecution because of their faith. We beseech Your divine favor upon them to defend against those who unwarrantedly attack. “Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted” (2 Timothy 3:12). Fortify our brethren with steadfast strength as they endure the same persecution Jesus did. Protect them from the tyranny of manipulated truth, preventing false accusations that seek to diminish their influence and mar Your name. Clothe them with Your protection, O Lord, so that Your work may continue unimpeded by these falsehoods. Shield us all under the refuge of your wing as we stand resolute against these trials. Be our strong tower in time of distress until truth emerges victorious. Amen.

Almighty Creator, amidst a nation of diverse faiths and beliefs, we humbly seek Your intervention for religious transformation in India. Enlighten those who manipulate the spiritual paths of others by paying Hindus to forsake their ancestral worship, bring them back to their sacred roots with a heart full of understanding. May they see that true religion involves no transaction nor coercion. Shower upon us the wisdom to guide these lost souls and lead them towards a powerful homecoming ceremony returning to their spiritual journey undeterred by bribes or promises misleading them away from their path towards You. Help us honor diversity while preserving our own culture and traditions. Stir in paying people not with money, but with love, respect, and knowledge about the beauty of our faiths. In this earnest pursuit, fill our hearts with fervent passion as we work tirelessly for this transformation under Your divine guidance. Amen.

Father, You have called Your faithful followers to make an enormous difference in the many corners of our world. In places far and near, like India, You have workers diligently sowing seeds of love and truth. We pray for strength as they face countless hurdles; may they stand firm in faith just as Ephesians 6:14 guides us, ‘Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth…’ Liberate them from any bondage that hinders their commitment to Your work. Compel communities around them to aid our partners who are striving to show Christ’s power through their action. Amen.
