Prayer for Fear of Flying

Almighty and Merciful God, drawn together by the common fear of flying, we pray earnestly. You have graciously given us life with its myriad adventures, yet our hearts tremble at the thought of being airborne. We seek Your divine protection today as we face this longstanding fear. In Your Word, it is written: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). Please instill in us this sense of power and love; grant us the sufficient courage to overcome our anxieties. Hold our hand today, Jesus, and let the wings of inner peace protect us from the stormy turbulence that resides within our minds. In trusting You fully, may we find respite from such fears and restore our confidence within the canvas of sky. Through Jesus Christ’s name we pray this prayer for ourselves. Amen.
