Prayer for Deceased Father

Lord Jesus Christ, my savior and redeemer, I come humbly before you today. With a heavy heart and tearful eyes, I implore Your divine mercy upon my dearly departed father. May You receive him into your heavenly abode, forgiving his transgressions and rewarding his good deeds with eternal rest. Sprinkle your love and comfort onto our grieving hearts. Amen.

Immortal Keeper of peace and comfort, nestle the family mourning their earthly father within your bosom. As Psalm 34:18 reassures, ‘The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.’ Still their trembling hearts, oh God, and fill them with a peace that surpasses human understanding; to recognize your divine presence even amidst sorrowful tears. Heavenly Father, in the tempest of my heart’s sorrow following my father’s death, I find myself awash with feelings of helplessness. Amidst this raging storm within me, I fervently reach out to You.
