AA Morning Prayer

As we find solace in the calm of this morning meditation, let us work to discard the chains of self-pity and embrace the path towards eternal life. God, inspire us with Thy peace that transcends understanding. Strengthen us to arise from the crutches of self-seeking and alcoholism. God, direct our thinking today; may it ring clear with sobriety and guided not by selfishness but love. Let your divine presence bring faith into our hearts that radiates warmth, opening doors for conscious contact with yourself. Foster in our lives a symphony of harmony, promoting unity within Alcoholics Anonymous. Above all else, suffuse us with Thy love and unending grace. Amen.

Lord, as I awaken to start this day, I surrender my self will unto You. Guide me through life, God, on your envisioned path and help me bear witness to your divine plan. Grant upon me the strength to shed self seeking motives and fear that cloud my vision from thou wilt. MayNot Mine but Thy Will be Done in all of my deeds. Let the sight of sisterly love for our fellow man become what guides me ahead. Help me bring light where there is darkness, divorced of self pity and free from my own selfish ends. Guide me to live not for myself alone but for others too; less self, more service. Amen.

Heavenly Lord, in the heart of this sinful world, I am afraid today. Grant me the strength to provide maximum service, to bring hope and truth regardless of my hardships. Thy way I long to walk, not a single defect of character holding me back. Free me from doubt, guide me each moment towards acceptance. May change courageously embrace us all as we embark on paths intertwined with difficulty. And in all these things, let my heart be open to Your divine teachings from dusk until dawn. Derive power from your eternal light and love continually. Amen.

Loving God, guide us to earnest acceptance of our defects, as we traverse the twelve traditions. Inspire our thinking and decisions today; let thy way of life direct us. May the same tolerance allow us to exist within the mainstream of life and encourage self-forgetting, bringing joy to those around us. We seek courage and persistence; with the help of Thy power, we strive for betterment. Pray for our journey’s strength and hope in each challenging day. Amen.

Gracious God, we ask Your help in freeing us from the chains of resentful, selfish dishonesty that bind us. Enable us to understand our sick friend who acts seemingly for their own selfish ends, not out of malice but illness. Strengthen our hearts to forgive and tolerate all human beings, especially those we find difficult to deal with. Remove from us any trace of self-pity, dishonesty, and fear that blinds us from seeing others as they truly are. May we serve our fellow man and cheerfully grant what religious people do for others willingly. Guide us away from worry, remorse or morbid thoughts and lead us onto a path of light-filled tolerance. Fill our life with the willingness to let go of grudges while promoting understanding among all beings. In this journey towards recovery and service beyond ourselves, we yield ourselves entirely into Your hands. Amen.

Divine Source, kindly inspire my thinking as I embark on this new day. Guide me in making wise decisions and intuitive choices that lead me towards peace and happiness. May Your influence grant me the serenity to see the silver lining in every cloud and the presence of mind to turn challenges into stepping stones for growth. Eliminate any negativity that may hamper my journey towards becoming supremely happy. Let Your guiding light illuminate my path today and always, Amen.

In Your Divine Mastery, we find hope and solace. We ask You to lay Your healing hand upon the sick person in our midst. Allow gentleness and calm to permeate their spirit, diminishing fear, removing worry that causes torment. As stated in Psalm 30:2, “Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.” Fill them with the gleaming rays of dawn’s hopefulness; let their hearts echo with joyful serenity amidst trial. Amen.
