St. Barbara Prayer

Oh, Saint Barbara, most revered saint, I humbly come to you today for the intercession of your divine assistance before and during my upcoming surgery. Please grant me strength as I prepare for this serious medical procedure so that it may be successful. My faith is strong, oh healer St. Barbara! Give me the courage to honor your power and trust in God’s wisdom in light of this operation. May the surgical team be attentive and skillful; help all those involved work together for a favorable outcome with optimal healing potentials. Lord, open our eyes to see your presence of mercy amidst any adverse situation related to surgery and bring us into greater harmony through Christ, Our Lord, amen.

O Glorious Saint Barbara, patron saint of protection, I come to you in humble prayer. For centuries you have been known and revered for your strength against the thunderbolts of Heaven, securing mortals from the perils that a raging storm can cause. In my hour of distress and loneliness, may you graciously grant me refuge upon the heights of your lonely tower. Protect me as I place all of my trust in you. Release me from fear, banishing every opposing force away with your glorious lightning bolt. With undying faith and fervent petition, I humbly ask that you protect me always, Saint Barbara. Amen.

As I look upon your beautiful image painted in stained glass, I am reminded of your own devotion and obedience to divine love. Comforted by knowing that miracles are occurrence through divine intervention just as they did in providing an escape from captivity when an opening appeared in your prison wall, please find it possible to perform one now for partaking believers such as myself.
