Spiritual Communion Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I long for the sublime grace to partake in Holy Communion. However, in this moment I am unable to receive You physically. I earnestly implore you, good Jesus, desire only You and imbue my soul with Your divine presence. Allow me the joy of spiritual communion – bringing You spiritually into my heart. Guide me as I traverse all things; may I ardently yearn for Your holy guidance and nearness above all else. Amen.

St. Alphonsus, Patron of the Confessional, I implore your intercession in this act of spiritual communion. Through ardent desire, let me come at least spiritually into my heart. Jesus, I believe you are truly present and alive within me. Filled with this grace, I long to embrace you as you unite yourself wholly unto me. Inspire in me that desire to receive You with profound reverence and humility. May your loving presence and your embrace bring me closer to God’s divine mercy. Amen.
