Prayer for a Young Man

Lord Jesus Christ, as this young man embarks on the journey of beginning life, grant him strength to navigate such a world. Let faith be his fortress; comfort him when he wavers or stumbles, reassuring that he does not stand alone at this trying hour. We pray for fortitude for the young man facing hardship; may strength flood through every vein of his being until he sees the dawn breaking on a stronger future. Amen.

Guard us, O Lord, from all these blood suckers that encircle this once bright spirit. As vultures, they prey on his innocence with their malevolent influence. As Psalm 28:7 says “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me.” Preserve and foster the integrity dwelling within him lest he be overtaken. Loving Creator, guide so small a circle encompassing this young man. May they glean wisdom from Your Word, like the sons of Korah, who said “God is our refuge and strength” (Psalm 46:1). Captivated by his reflection, he trespasses into Thy realm: to invade God’s prerogative and impose his own design on sacred purpose. Pride rears its arrogant head! Let Proverbs 11:2 be his guide; ‘When pride comes, then comes disgrace but with the humble is wisdom.’ Soften his heart, Thou God seest all things hidden, peel off layers of self-absorption and arrogance. Transform him into a mirror reflecting only Your love and humility. Amen.
